The institute is a purely non-political academic forum. Its mission is to engage the interested scholars and students of politics so that they can have a better understanding of the polity and society based on objective analysis so that the generation next can create a better world.

Born in 1965 in Stockerau (Austria), 1991 Dr. in Political Science (Vienna State University). Since 1997 (civilian) researcher at the Institute for Peace Support and Conflict Management, then at the Institute for Strategy and Security Policy, both of the National Defense Academy (Vienna). Several internships in research institutes in Germany, Russia, Ukraine and the U.S. Areas of interest and expertise: State failing theories, theories of separatism, theories of ethnic conflicts, security and military policy in the Commonwealth of Independent States (especially Russia, Ukraine, South Caucasus), post-Soviet language policy, military-industrial complex and arms trade of the post Soviet republics, relations NATO – CIS and EU – CIS, Eurasian energy policy etc. Author/editor of several books and some 300 articles, published in a dozen countries.
